Most people are not aware that we need to exercise at least 30 min a day to lose weight.  It does not matter what king of the exercise it is, it can be you using an elliptical to lose weight, or a treadmill or just some sit ups and push ups.  What ever it is, it will help. However, keep in mind that you should eat a well balanced diet to lose weight as well.

We all know that majority of worlds is having a lot of obesity issues.  Especially the United States in recent years, and this is probably due to people not walking a lot and using a lot more automobiles to move from one place to another.   As much as this is a time saver in terms of a commute, you have to find the time to exercise.  Using an elliptical to lose weight is great.  This is because it works out your upper and the lower body at once, and this causes your body to burn more calories.

Since the upper and the lower body is worked out a lot faster in short amount of time, the elliptical machines are being used a lot more to lose weight compared to treadmills.  Keep in mind, that another popular exercise machine is the total gym workout, but this is a little different than the elliptical.

Any form of walking or jogging is a great form of exercise.  This helps your cardiovascular health.  With using elliptical to lose weight your build muscle, and muscle needs a lot more calories to be maintained and this makes it harder for you to gain the weight back.

For the most weight loss programs, you should eat a very balanced healthy diet that has a lot of fruits and vegetables incorporated into it together with protein.  Fruits and vegetables are considered negative calorie food, meaning, you cannot gain the weight from it and the protein helps you build muscle. (Most recent diet that is very popular is the calorie shifting diet sometimes know as the Fat loss for Idiots.)
But no matter what you do, you should always consult your Dr. before staring a new exercise and a diet plan. This is because each person is built differently and each persons weight loss should be monitored by the Dr. to be on the safe side.
Using an elliptical to lose weight is great, but you should also incorporate the healthy balanced diet for the best results.
